Ladakh: A Himalayan Journey of Stillness and Spirit 🏔️

Ladakh reveals a different spirit in every season. From the soft bloom of spring and the vibrant festivals of

summer to the golden stillness of autumn, the high Himalayas offer ever-changing landscapes, traditions, and moments of reflection. This journey invites you to experience Ladakh not simply as a destination, but as a living world of culture, spirituality, nature, and inner discovery throughout the seasons.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Leh – Gentle Acclimatization

Upon arrival in Leh (3,500m), you’ll be transferred to your hotel for rest and gentle
acclimatization to the Himalayan altitude. Take the day slowly, sip warm tea, breathe in
the crisp mountain air, and allow yourself to settle into the rhythm of Ladakh.
In the late afternoon, enjoy a gentle introduction to Leh’s peaceful atmosphere with a
visit to the iconic Shanti Stupa, where panoramic views of the surrounding mountains
and valleys glow beautifully in the soft light of sunset. Prayer flags flutter in the wind
as the stillness of the Himalayas begins to unfold around you.

Day 2

Leh – Nubra Valley via Khardung La

Travel across Khardung La, one of the world’s highest motorable mountain passes,
into the breathtaking landscapes of Nubra Valley, where high-altitude deserts, sand
dunes, and snow-capped peaks meet in dramatic contrast. Visit the ancient Diskit
Monastery and its towering Maitreya Buddha statue overlooking the valley below.
Later, continue to Hunder Sand Dunes, where you may enjoy an optional ride on the
region’s famous double-humped Bactrian camels across the sand dunes. In the evening,
settle into your lodge and experience the quiet beauty of a Himalayan night.
Stay: Hunder

Day 3

Turtuk Village

Journey deeper into the Nubra Valley as we travel from Hunder to the remote village
of Turtuk, one of the northernmost villages in India near the Pakistan border. Known
for its distinct Balti culture, warm hospitality, stone houses, apricot orchards, and lush
landscapes, Turtuk offers a striking contrast to Ladakh’s rugged terrain. Spend time
exploring the village and learning about its unique history before returning to Hunder
by evening, surrounded by the changing colors of the Himalayan desert.
Stay: Hunder

Day 4

Nubra Valley – Pangong Lake

Travel deeper into remote Ladakh toward the breathtaking Pangong Lake, known for
its ever-changing shades of blue.
Arriving by afternoon, you’ll witness the lake shimmering under vast open skies. This
is a place of silence and contemplation, where nature speaks in stillness.
Stay: Pangong Lake

Day 5

Pangong Lake – Return to Leh

Wake early to witness Pangong Lake in a completely different mood from the evening
before. As the morning sunlight slowly touches the water, the lake transforms through
changing shades of deep blue, turquoise, emerald, and silver, an ever-shifting spectacle
shaped by light, wind, and sky. The stillness of the early morning creates a magical
atmosphere of reflection and serenity.
After breakfast, journey back to Leh through rugged mountain landscapes and
traditional Ladakhi villages, carrying with you the unforgettable colors and quiet
beauty of Pangong. Evening at leisure.
Stay: Leh

Day 6

Leh – Lamayuru – Alchi

Depart Leh in the morning and journey west along the scenic Indus Valley, passing
dramatic mountain landscapes, ancient villages, and historic monasteries. Visit
Lamayuru Monastery, one of Ladakh’s oldest and most spectacular monasteries, set
amidst the striking “Moonland” terrain known for its unusual lunar-like formations.
After exploring Lamayuru and enjoying the peaceful monastic atmosphere, continue
toward Alchi, a charming village famous for the ancient Alchi Monastery complex,
renowned for its rare Kashmiri-influenced murals and exquisite Buddhist art dating
back nearly a thousand years. Spend the evening in the tranquil riverside village of
Alchi and enjoy a peaceful overnight stay surrounded by apricot orchards and
Himalayan landscapes.
Stay: Alchi

Day 7

Alchi – Shey – Thiksey – Leh

After breakfast, depart the peaceful village of Alchi and journey back toward Leh,
exploring some of Ladakh’s most important cultural and spiritual landmarks along the
way. Visit the majestic Thiksey Monastery, dramatically perched on a hilltop and
often compared to the Potala Palace of Tibet, with sweeping views across the Indus
Valley. Continue to Shey Palace, the former royal residence of Ladakh, home to an
impressive giant Buddha statue and traces of the region’s royal history.
Return to Leh in the late afternoon and enjoy time exploring the lively Leh Market,
where traditional handicrafts, prayer flags, cafe s, and local life bring a vibrant contrast
to the quiet monasteries and mountain landscapes experienced throughout the
journey.
Stay: Leh
